Hi, I am Sarah
Professional marketer by day.
Chicken chaser, flower grower, animal collector,
and chaos coordinator the rest of the time.
I’m a mom to four kids — ages 27, 25, 12, and 11 —
which means I’m somehow simultaneously packing
school lunches, giving life advice to grown adults, a
nd yes… I’m even a grandma now.
Life around here is loud, busy, beautiful, messy,
and usually covered in feathers, flour, dirt, or dog
hair.
What started as “let’s get a few chickens for fresh eggs” somehow turned into ducks, guineas, rabbits, turkeys, goslings, kittens, golden retrievers, gardens, sourdough experiments, flower growing, farm stand dreams, and a backyard that sounds like a tiny petting zoo with opinions.
And honestly?
I love every second of it.
Well… most seconds.
Not the ones where the chickens escape into the flower beds I just spent six hours planting.
I’ve always been the kind of person who:
can’t sit still,
starts five projects at once,
loves creating ideas and businesses,
hosts people every chance I get,
and would rather be outside barefoot in the garden than inside folding laundry.
I love movement.
I love building things.
I love making people feel welcome.
I love dreaming big and figuring it out later.
But the older I get, the more I feel the Lord teaching me something that does NOT come naturally to me:
slow down,
be quiet,
wait,
listen.
And whew…
that part is hard.
This little homestead journey has become more than chickens and gardens for me.
It’s become a lesson in slowing down enough to notice life again.
The sunsets.
The dirt on your hands.
Kids laughing outside.
Fresh bread cooling on the counter.
Coffee on the porch.
Conversations around the table.
The beauty God tucked into ordinary things we usually rush past.
This space was created for people who want:
a softer life,
a warm home,
meaningful connection,
fresh eggs,
belly laughs,
a little backyard chaos,
and permission to start before they feel fully ready.
No perfection.
No pretending.
No curated fake farmhouse life.
Just real people,
real learning,
good food,
beautiful messes,
and figuring it out one project, one chicken, and one sourdough loaf at a time.
And if you also have too many ideas, too many plants, and an unhealthy habit of saying:
“we probably don’t need another animal… but hear me out…”
then you’re definitely my kind of people.
